Auditioning Basics - Preparing for College

Are you a High School student considering getting a bachelors degree in Vocal Performance or Musical Theatre? Now is the time to start preparing for upcoming college-auditions! Boston Lyric Opera and VOICES Boston are teaming up to host a workshop for High School Juniors and Seniors who wish to gain important skills and tips to ace their college-audition or summer program audition experience. Participants will have the opportunity to sing for and get feedback from a distinguished panel of professionals working in the industry. During this two-day workshop, participants will work with acclaimed Boston Lyric Opera faculty on repertoire, resume, theatrical movement techniques, physicality, and characterization. Singers who have participated in this workshop in the past have gone on to attend highly accredited institutions and summer programs, such as The Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, Northwestern University, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.


  • When: Sunday, Nov. 10 & Monday, Nov. 11 (Veteran's Day) from 10:00am-4:00pm each day.

  • Where: First Parish in Brookline, MA (382 Walnut St. Brookline)

  • Registration Deadline: November 1st, 2019

  • Fee: $200*
